Even after filtration, beer contains proteins originating from the raw ingredients. These proteins will react with polyphenols, also present in the beer, to form unacceptable haze. Divergan is a single use insoluble polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVPP) which can be use in the body feed on route to the filter or in the maturation tank to remove the polyphenolic material. Divergan is available as a single use product or as a regenerable material. The fine particle size of Divergan F ensures it settles slowly in vessel allowing for a longer contact time. It is food grade non-GMO and is Reinheitsgebot compliant. Optimal addition would be after the aging vessel before the filter, however, it can also be added to the aging vessel provided a sufficient sedimentation period is assured. Optimal dosage temperature is 32¡ F or below with good dispersion and a minimum contact time of 4 minutes. PVPP is dusty and typically requires a 2 hours hydration period prior to use. Typical Dosage Rate: 3 - 6 lbs/100 bbls
